Larry McLean Marquee

b. July 18, 1881 · Boston Americans 1901, Chicago Cubs 1903, St. Louis Cardinals 1904, 1913, Cincinnati Reds 1906–1912, New York Giants 1913–1915

McLean's best season came with Cincinnati in 1910. He played 127 games, collected 126 hits, drove in 71 runs and hit .298. The games, hits, runs batted in and average were career highs.

Thirteen seasons gave him 694 hits, 90 doubles, 26 triples, 298 runs batted in and a .262 average across 862 games. He caught 761 games and played 37 at first base. His six home runs never included more than two in one season.

McLean had brief early stops with the Boston Americans, Cubs and Cardinals before settling with Cincinnati from 1906 through 1912. He returned to St. Louis and then joined the Giants during 1913. He finished with New York in 1915. The 1937 Hall of Fame ballot gave him one vote. He died in 1921, at thirty-nine.
