Jimmy Williams played for four clubs across 11 seasons as a second baseman, opening with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1899 and closing with the St. Louis Browns in 1909. His longest stay was with the New York Highlanders, from 1903 to 1907.

He collected 1,508 hits over 1,457 games, batting .275 with 796 runs batted in. He finished with 49 home runs, 242 doubles, 138 triples and 151 stolen bases.
