Jimmy Key pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays for his first nine seasons, winning a World Series there in 1992, before moving to the Yankees and finishing his career with two years in Baltimore, retiring in 1998.
He went 186-117 with a 3.51 earned run average over 2,591 innings pitched, completing 34 of his 389 starts and throwing 13 shutouts. He struck out 1,538 batters.
He took the Outstanding Pitcher recognition from the MLB Players Choice awards in 1994, and was a Sporting News All-Star three separate times.
Four seasons brought him an All-Star nod, the run stretching from 1985 to 1994. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on April 22, 1961; he batted right-handed and threw left.
