Born December 18, 1955
Chicago, IL, USA
Toronto took him from Texas in the November 1976 expansion draft and he pitched twelve seasons for the club, starting 345 games — second only to Dave Stieb — through the years when it lost 100 twice and the years when it started winning divisions.
Fifteen seasons gave him 140 wins against 167, a 4.23 earned run average, 2,517 innings and 74 complete games. He threw 266 innings in 1982 and made his one All-Star team that year. The losses are a fact about the roster in front of him for most of a decade.
He finished in the Houston bullpen and was on the Atlanta staff for the 1991 pennant. No Hall of Fame ballot has ever listed him. He died in July 2025, at sixty-nine.
