Jed Lowrie Marquee

He hit 23 home runs and drove in 99 for Oakland in 2018 at thirty-four, was chosen for the All-Star team for the only time, and signed with the Mets that winter for two years and $20 million. He came up with a knee injury in spring training, appeared in nine games in 2019 and none at all in 2020.

Fourteen seasons gave him 1,185 hits, 292 doubles, 121 home runs, 594 runs batted in and a .257 average, split almost evenly between shortstop and second base with 146 games at third. Injuries took pieces of nearly every year: he played 150 games four times and fewer than 100 six times.

Oakland took him back in 2021 and he played 139 games, his last full season. He retired after 2022 at thirty-eight. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
