Jake Powell Marquee

Powell produced his best season for Washington in 1935, hitting .312 with 172 hits, six home runs, 98 runs batted in and 88 runs across 139 games. The next year, split between the Senators and Yankees, he collected 161 hits, scored 102 runs and stole 26 bases.

Eleven seasons gave him 689 hits, 116 doubles, 22 home runs, 327 runs batted in, 353 runs and 65 stolen bases with a .271 average. He played 645 games in the outfield and only three at other positions.

Powell first appeared for Washington in 1930, returned in 1934 and moved to New York during 1936. After five seasons with the Yankees, he rejoined the Senators in 1943. Washington sent him to Philadelphia during his final 1945 season. He died in 1948, at thirty-nine.
