Born January 16, 1966
Van Nuys, CA, USA
He went 22-10 with a 3.37 earned run average and ten complete games in 1993 and won the Cy Young Award with 21 of the 28 first-place votes, having finished second the year before. Chicago won the division and lost the Championship Series.
Twelve seasons gave him 127 wins against 87 — a .593 percentage — with a 3.85 earned run average, 1,889 innings and 62 complete games, and three All-Star selections. Hip and elbow trouble finished him at thirty-three.
He fronted a rock band called Stickfigure that released three albums and toured in the offseasons, which is why he was called Black Jack in some quarters and worse in others. In July 1995, leaving the mound at Yankee Stadium to booing, he raised his middle finger to the crowd and was fined for it. The 2005 ballot gave him four votes of 516.
