Frank McGowan Marquee

McGowan's largest season came with the Browns in 1929. He played 125 games, collected 112 hits, scored 62 runs, drove in 51 and drew 61 walks while batting .254. Each counting total was a career high.

Five seasons gave him 316 hits, 58 doubles, 16 triples, six home runs, 108 runs batted in and a .262 average across 375 games. McGowan played 327 games in the outfield and drew 154 career walks, including 61 in 1929.

Philadelphia brought McGowan up in 1922 and used him for two seasons. After four years outside the majors, he returned with St. Louis in 1928 and stayed for his productive 1929 campaign. Seven more seasons passed before he made nine final appearances for the Boston Bees in 1937, collecting one hit in 12 at bats. He died in 1982, at eighty.
