Ernie Whitt Marquee

He was left unprotected by Boston in the 1976 expansion draft and Toronto took him. He caught there for twelve seasons, through the first winning club in franchise history and the division winners of 1985 and 1989, hitting 19 home runs in 1987 and 16 in 1988, when he was chosen for the All-Star team at thirty-six.

Fifteen seasons gave him 938 hits, 134 home runs, 534 runs batted in and a .249 average. On September 14, 1987, he hit three home runs in a game against Baltimore, part of the ten the Blue Jays hit that day.

He finished with Atlanta and Baltimore and then coached and managed. He ran Canada's national team for more than a decade, taking it to the Pan American Games and the World Baseball Classic. No Hall of Fame ballot has listed him.
