Eddie Murphy Marquee

Murphy's largest season came with Philadelphia in 1914. He collected 156 hits, scored 101 runs, stole 36 bases and drew 87 walks across 148 games. The hits, stolen bases and walks were career highs, while he had scored 105 runs the year before.

Eleven seasons gave him 680 hits, 66 doubles, 111 stolen bases, 411 runs, 294 walks and a .287 average across 761 games. He played 568 games in the outfield, along with brief appearances at second and third base.

The Athletics brought Murphy up in 1912 and sent him to the White Sox during 1915. He remained with Chicago through 1921, although his playing time fell sharply after 1918. Five years outside the majors followed before 16 final games with Pittsburgh in 1926. He died in 1969, at seventy-seven.
