He went 15-10, 15-9 and 16-6 for the Indians from 1998 to 2000, for clubs that won the division every year, and was never chosen for an All-Star team or given a Cy Young vote. Fifteen seasons gave him 115 wins against 87, a 4.49 earned run average and 1,777 innings.
He was a relief pitcher for his first five years — 54 appearances for San Francisco in 1993 — and a starter for the next eight. Cincinnati traded him to Cleveland in 1998 for Sean Casey, which is the deal both clubs would defend.
He was a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State. He is not on a Hall of Fame ballot.
