Clyde Manion Marquee

Manion's largest season came in his first year with the Browns, 1928. He played 76 games, collected 55 hits, scored 25 runs, drove in 31 and hit two home runs. Every one of those totals was a career high.

Thirteen seasons gave him 250 hits, 25 doubles, three home runs, 112 runs batted in and a .218 average across 477 games. Manion caught 401 games and appeared three times at first base. He drew 118 career walks.

Detroit brought Manion up in 1920 and used him across eight seasons. He moved to St. Louis for 1928 through 1930, then sat out the 1931 major-league season. Cincinnati brought him back in 1932, and he remained through 1934. His final year included 25 games and 10 hits, completing a fifteen-year major-league span. Manion died in 1967, at seventy.
