Born January 14, 1907
Leavenworth, KS, USA
Chet Brewer pitched in the Negro Leagues for over twenty years, most of them with the Kansas City Monarchs, and also spent winters in Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, where seasons overlapped enough that he sometimes pitched year-round.
He was a known ball-doctorer early on, and in a famous 1930 duel against Smokey Joe Williams under the Monarchs' portable lights he struck out nineteen and lost 1-0. His two East-West All-Star selections came in 1934 and 1947.
Born in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1907, Brewer compiled a 69-60 record with 95 complete games and 16 shutouts in the surviving record, pitched his last recorded game in 1949, and later scouted for Pittsburgh and coached youth baseball in Los Angeles. Brewer was eighty-three when he died, on March 26, 1990.

Seasons outside MLB's recognized major leagues appear in All seasons, but not in Major leagues or the leaderboards. For Chet Brewer, that is 1931–1935. Why totals can differ.
