Paul O'Neill Marquee

Paul O'Neill played right field for the Cincinnati Reds for eight seasons before a 1993 trade sent him to the New York Yankees, where he played the rest of his career through 2001, becoming a fixture of the Yankees' championship teams of that era.

He batted .288 with 2,105 hits over 2,053 games, hitting 281 home runs and driving in 1,269 runs. He also pitched once in relief, allowing enough runs for a 13.50 earned run average across two innings, a novelty in an otherwise conventional outfielder's career.

His All-Star selections ran across five separate seasons, spread between 1991 and 1998, capturing the best years of his career with both clubs.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 25, 1963, he batted and threw left-handed.
