Fourteen seasons have given him 2,069 hits, 369 home runs, 1,144 runs batted in and a .279 average.

The defense at third base is the part that was obvious first: he has played 1,534 games there and 236 at shortstop, and moved between the two as clubs needed. Seven All-Star selections, three Silver Sluggers, two Gold Gloves.

Baltimore traded him to the Dodgers in the last summer of his contract in 2018 and he signed with San Diego that winter for ten years, which was then among the largest contracts anyone had been given. He is still playing, and the totals here are not final.
