Ken McMullen Marquee

Los Angeles traded him to Washington in 1964 in the deal for Claude Osteen and he played six seasons there, hitting 19 or more home runs in four of them and driving in 87 runs in 1969 for the one club Ted Williams managed to a winning record.

Sixteen seasons gave him 1,273 hits, 156 home runs, 606 runs batted in, 510 walks and a .248 average, with 1,318 games at third base. He was a reliable fielder on bad clubs for a decade and was not chosen for an All-Star team in any of those years.

His wife died of cancer in 1974, at twenty-nine, while he was playing for the Dodgers, and he raised three children afterward. The 1983 ballot gave him no votes at all.
