Jerry Hairston Marquee

Hairston's career centered on reserve work. He appeared in 859 games but totaled only 1,699 at bats. His best hit total came for the White Sox in 1975, when he collected 62, hit .283 and drew 46 walks across 69 games.

Fourteen seasons gave him 438 hits, 91 doubles, 30 home runs, 205 runs batted in, 216 runs and 282 walks with a .258 average. He played 320 games in the outfield, 45 at first base and one at second.

The White Sox brought Hairston up in 1973, followed by a move to Pittsburgh during 1977. After three seasons outside the majors, he returned to Chicago in 1981 and remained through 1989. His career-high five home runs came in both 1984 and 1986, the only seasons in which he played at least 100 games.
