Hub Walker Marquee

Walker's largest season came with Cincinnati in 1936. He played 92 games, collected 71 hits, scored 49 runs, hit four home runs and drew 35 walks while batting .275. The games, home runs, runs and walks were career highs.

Five seasons gave him 205 hits, 43 doubles, five home runs, 60 runs batted in, 117 runs and a .263 average across 297 games. Walker stole 26 bases and played 211 games in the outfield, with five appearances at other positions.

Detroit brought Walker up in 1931, when he hit .286 with a career-high 72 hits across 90 games. Four seasons outside the majors followed before his two years with Cincinnati in 1936 and 1937. After another six-year absence, he returned to Detroit for the 1944 and 1945 seasons. That final comeback stretched his career across fifteen calendar years. He died in 1982, at seventy-six.
