Greg Vaughn played left field for the Milwaukee Brewers for his first eight seasons before moving through San Diego, Cincinnati, Tampa Bay and Colorado, retiring in 2003.

He hit 355 home runs and batted .242 over 1,731 games, driving in 1,072 runs, a career built almost entirely around power at the plate rather than average or speed.

He took the Comeback Player award in 1998, the same year he was named a Sporting News All-Star and won a Silver Slugger, the peak recognition of his career.

Four All-Star selections spanned 1993 to 2001. Sacramento, California is where he was born, on July 3, 1965, batting and throwing right-handed.
