Frankie Pytlak Marquee

Pytlak put together his best two seasons with Cleveland in 1937 and 1938. He hit .315 with 125 hits, 60 runs, 52 walks and 16 stolen bases in the first, then .308 with 112 hits and 43 runs batted in the next.

Twelve seasons gave him 677 hits, 100 doubles, 56 stolen bases, 272 runs batted in and a .282 average across 795 games. He caught 699 games and made only one other fielding appearance, in the outfield. His seven home runs never included more than two in a season.

Cleveland brought Pytlak up in 1932 and employed him through 1940. He joined Boston in 1941, then missed three major-league seasons before returning to the Red Sox in 1945 and 1946. Those two organizations accounted for his entire career. He died in 1977, at sixty-eight.
