David Justice Marquee

b. April 14, 1966 · Atlanta Braves 1989–1996, Cleveland Indians 1997–2000, New York Yankees 2000–2001, Oakland Athletics 2002

Before the sixth game of the 1995 World Series he told reporters that Atlanta's fans would be the first to turn on the club if it lost. That night he hit a solo home run in the sixth inning and Tom Glavine and Mark Wohlers held Cleveland to one hit. The final was 1-0 and it is the only World Series the Braves have won in that city.

He was Rookie of the Year in 1990 and hit 40 home runs with 120 runs batted in in 1993. Fourteen seasons gave him 1,571 hits, 305 home runs, 1,017 runs batted in, 903 walks and a .279 average, with three All-Star selections and two Silver Sluggers.

Atlanta traded him to Cleveland in 1997, where he hit 33 home runs and was Comeback Player of the Year, and Cleveland traded him to the Yankees in 2000, where he hit 41 home runs between the two clubs and was the Championship Series award winner. He won World Series titles with two organizations. The 2008 ballot gave him one vote of 543.
