Corbin Burnes was a fringe roster arm with an earned run average above eight in 2019, remade himself around a cutter over one winter, and won the National League Cy Young Award two years later with a 2.43 mark.
The 2021 season also brought a share of a combined no-hitter and a stretch in which he struck out 58 batters before walking anyone, a record. Milwaukee traded him to Baltimore for 2024, where he made a fourth consecutive All-Star team, and he signed with Arizona the following winter.
