Chris Coghlan Marquee

b. June 18, 1985 · Florida Marlins 2009–2011, Miami Marlins 2012–2013, Chicago Cubs 2014–2016, Oakland Athletics 2016, Toronto Blue Jays 2017

Chris Coghlan won National League Rookie of the Year in 2009 after hitting .372 over the season's final two months for Florida. A knee injury sustained during a celebratory pie-in-the-face the following July cost him most of two years.

He rebuilt the career as a utility player, which suited him better: the Cubs used him at four positions across three seasons, and he was on the roster for the 2016 club that ended the franchise's 108-year wait. He is also remembered for a hurdle over a catcher at second base in 2016 that briefly became the most replayed slide in the sport.

Born in Palm Harbor, Florida in 1985, Coghlan batted .258 with 666 hits across nine seasons and five clubs.
