Born December 4, 1992
Seattle, WA, USA
He went 21-5 with a 1.89 earned run average for Tampa Bay in 2018 — the most wins and the lowest earned run average in the American League — and took the Cy Young Award with 169 points of 210. In 2023, for San Diego, he had the lowest earned run average in the National League at 2.25 and won it again, this time with 204 of 210 and 28 of the 30 first-place votes, while also walking 99 batters, more than anyone else in the league.
Ten seasons have given him 81 wins against 62, a 3.15 earned run average, 1,440 strikeouts in 1,158 innings and one complete game, which was Blake Snell's No-Hitter for San Francisco. He has never thrown 200 innings in a season and has averaged better than eleven strikeouts a game across his career; the two facts belong to the same pitcher.
He signed with Los Angeles before the 2025 season, made eleven starts around a shoulder injury with a 2.35 earned run average, and the Dodgers won the World Series. He is thirty-three and still pitching.
