Adrian Beltré doubled in the fourth inning against Baltimore on July 30, 2017 for the 3,000th hit of his career, his only hit in five at-bats. Texas lost 10–6 at home.

He was the first player born in the Dominican Republic to reach the mark, and he had taken an unhurried route there, debuting for the Los Angeles Dodgers at nineteen in 1998 and passing through Seattle and Boston before settling in Texas in 2011.

Beltré was a third baseman of genuine defensive standing, with five Gold Gloves and two Platinum Gloves, and he hit 477 home runs and 636 doubles. He retired after the 2018 season with 3,166 hits and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2024.
