Ryan Howard Marquee

He hit 58 home runs and drove in 149 runs in 2006, led the National League in both, and was named Most Valuable Player. No other Philadelphia player has hit 58 in a season. He had been Rookie of the Year in 2005, and only Cal Ripken, Dustin Pedroia and Kris Bryant have also won the two awards in consecutive years.

From 2006 through 2009 he hit at least 45 home runs and drove in at least 136 runs every year, and he led the league in runs batted in three times. He had 129 home runs in his first 410 games and 222 in his first 732. He also struck out 1,843 times, and walked 709.

He tore his left Achilles tendon on the last play of Philadelphia's 2011 season and played 71 games in 2012. He finished with 382 home runs, 1,194 runs batted in and a .258 average, all of it for the Phillies. One Hall of Fame ballot, in 2022, gave him eight votes of 394.
