Omar Infante's 2010 All-Star selection caused an argument. He was a utility player without a regular position, and his manager, Charlie Manuel, picked him anyway, which set off a week of complaints about how the rosters were chosen. Infante then hit .321 for the season.
He had debuted for Detroit at twenty in 2002 and played for six clubs across fifteen years, mostly at second base. Kansas City signed him for 2014 and he started at second in both the World Series they reached, winning the second one in 2015.
Born in Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela in 1981, Infante batted .271 with 1,427 hits and 80 stolen bases across 1,507 games.
