Jorge Posada Marquee

He played seventeen seasons for New York and caught the champions of 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2009. Only Yogi Berra has hit more home runs in the club's uniform as a catcher: Posada's 275 are second, ahead of Bill Dickey's 202. He was a switch-hitter with 936 walks and a .273 average, which for the position is rare in both directions.

Seventeen seasons gave him 1,664 hits, 1,065 runs batted in and 379 doubles, with five All-Star selections and five Silver Sluggers. His best year was 2003: 30 home runs, 101 runs batted in, and a .405 on-base percentage from behind the plate at thirty-one.

He was one of the four the club brought up together — Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and him — and the only one of them who was converted from another position, having been signed as a second baseman out of Puerto Rico. His single ballot, in 2017, gave him 17 votes of 442.
