Jonathan India took National League Rookie of the Year in 2021 by a unanimous vote, hitting 21 home runs and reaching base at a .376 clip as Cincinnati's second baseman and leadoff hitter.
Cincinnati had taken him fifth overall out of the University of Florida in 2018, a year after he won a national championship there. The seasons after the award were interrupted by hamstring, foot and hamate injuries that cost him large parts of two years, and Kansas City acquired him ahead of the 2025 season.
Born in Fort Lauderdale in 1996, India has 72 home runs and 288 walks across five seasons, and has spent most of them batting at the top of an order.
