That is less a career summary than a demonstration of what the record for this era looks like. Box scores survive unevenly, and a player whose league games were few or poorly documented leaves a trace like this one regardless of how much baseball he actually played.

Born in New Orleans in 1904, Dimes batted .261 in those eight recorded games. He lived to ninety-five, dying in September 1999.
