Cal Eldred Marquee

He came up in July 1992 and won eleven of thirteen decisions with a 1.79 earned run average for a Milwaukee club that won 92 games. He was fourth in the Rookie of the Year voting despite pitching only half a season, and he made 36 starts and 258 innings the following year, which is the number people point to afterward.
His elbow went in 1995 and he had reconstruction surgery. He pitched five more years in Milwaukee and Chicago as a starter, went 10-2 for the 2000 White Sox club that won the division, and then reinvented himself in the St. Louis bullpen from 2003 to 2005.
Fourteen seasons gave him 86 wins against 74, a 4.42 earned run average, 1,368 innings and 19 complete games. He went to work for the players' association afterward. No Hall of Fame ballot has listed him.
