Alex Radcliff also has eleven; nobody has more. He played every one of his 621 recorded games for the Grays, from 1935 to 1948, and 639 of them at first base. He led his league in home runs three years running, 1939 through 1941, in walks three times and in runs twice.

He had 764 hits, 97 home runs and 561 runs batted in, and batted .344. He batted behind Josh Gibson for most of it, and the two of them were the reason the Grays won as often as they did. The figures are partial because these statistics were not kept with the resources the white major leagues had.

He was forty when Jackie Robinson reached Brooklyn, and no major-league club came for him. He went to Mexico instead and played into his fifties. The Hall of Fame elected him in 1972 through its Negro Leagues committee, the second man chosen for a career made entirely outside the white major leagues.
