Chief Bender's No-Hitter
The Philadelphia Athletics held the Cleveland Naps without a hit on May 12, 1910, winning 4–0. Chief Bender started the game for the Philadelphia Athletics.
It was played at Shibe Park in Philadelphia. The announced attendance was 3,000. Fred Link started for the Cleveland Naps. Bill Dinneen umpired behind the plate. It was played in daylight, as every game was: the first night game in the major leagues came in 1935.
The game log records each side's starting pitcher rather than everyone who appeared, so where a no-hitter was finished by a second pitcher this page names the man who began it.
