Yadier Molina spent his entire 19-year career behind the plate for the St. Louis Cardinals, debuting in 2004 and retiring in 2022 without ever appearing for another club.
He batted .277 with 2,168 hits over 2,226 games, driving in 1,022 runs. He also pitched twice, without recording an out cleanly enough to avoid an 18.00 earned run average across those two innings.
Nine Gold Gloves came between 2008 and 2015, along with four Platinum Gloves recognizing him as the best defensive player at any position in his league, and he took the Roberto Clemente Award in 2018.
He made ten All-Star teams over the course of his career, the first in 2009 and the last in 2021. He was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, on July 13, 1982, batting and throwing right-handed.
