Wally Moon played right field for the St. Louis Cardinals for five seasons before a 1959 trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers moved him to left, where he stayed for the rest of his career through 1965.
He batted .289 with 1,399 hits over 1,457 games, hitting 142 home runs and drawing 644 walks across a twelve-season career.
He won a Gold Glove in 1960, the year after his move to Los Angeles.
Two All-Star selections came in 1957 and 1959. Moon came from Bay, Arkansas, born there on April 3, 1930; he batted left-handed while throwing right. He died on February 9, 2018, more than five decades after his retirement.
