In 2023 he played 158 games for Atlanta, collected 217 hits, scored 149 runs, hit 41 home runs and stole 73 bases, and he led the National League in hits, runs and steals. Nobody else in the record has combined 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases in one season, let alone 40 and 70.
He was Rookie of the Year in 2018, at twenty. The next year, at twenty-one, he hit 41 home runs and stole 37 bases, the youngest 40-home-run, 30-steal season anyone has had. Through 2025 he has 913 hits, 186 home runs, 205 stolen bases and 655 runs in eight seasons, batting .289.
Injuries have taken large pieces out of it. He played 82 games in 2021, 49 in 2024 and 95 in 2025, and voters named him a comeback player in 2022 and again in 2025. He has five All-Star selections and three Silver Sluggers, and he has never played for another club.
