Pedro Guerrero Marquee

He drove in five runs in the sixth game of the 1981 World Series and was named the most valuable player of it along with Ron Cey and Steve Yeager, the only time three men have shared the award. He was twenty-five and had been a part-time player two years earlier.

In June 1985 he hit 15 home runs, which is the most anyone has hit in that month, and finished the season with 33 and a .320 average. Fifteen seasons gave him 1,618 hits, 215 home runs, 898 runs batted in and a .300 average exactly, with five All-Star selections.

He finished third or fourth in the Most Valuable Player voting four times and never won it. Los Angeles traded him to St. Louis in 1988 for John Tudor, and he drove in 117 runs for the Cardinals the following season at thirty-three. He was Dominican, signed by Cleveland at seventeen and traded to the Dodgers for a relief pitcher. The 1998 ballot gave him six votes of 473.
