Michael Harris reached Atlanta in May 2022 having never played above Double-A, hit .297 with 19 home runs, won National League Rookie of the Year and signed an eight-year extension in August — all before he turned twenty-two.
He plays center field well enough that the bat has never had to carry him, and the combination of speed and contact produced 70 stolen bases across his first four seasons. He was part of the Atlanta club that won the division five times running.
Born in DeKalb County, Georgia in 2001, Harris was drafted out of a high school twenty miles from the Braves' ballpark and has 73 home runs across 522 games.
