Frank White played second base for the Kansas City Royals for the whole of his 18-year career, from 1973 to 1990, and for no other club, spending his entire professional life with one organization.
He batted .255 with 2,006 hits over 2,324 games, hitting 160 home runs and stealing 178 bases, a career spent entirely with the same club from debut to retirement.
He won eight Gold Gloves between 1977 and 1987, an exceptional defensive run at the position, and took the League Championship Series MVP award in 1980, along with a Silver Slugger in 1986.
A right-handed hitter and thrower from Greenville, Mississippi, born there on September 4, 1950, he made five All-Star teams between 1978 and 1986.
