Brian Jordan Marquee

b. March 29, 1967 · St. Louis Cardinals 1992–1998, Atlanta Braves 1999–2001, 2005–2006, Los Angeles Dodgers 2002–2003, Texas Rangers 2004

He played three seasons for the Falcons as a strong safety and was regarded as one of the better ones in the league when St. Louis paid him to stop, in 1992. He was twenty-five and had 21 major-league games behind him.

Fifteen seasons gave him 1,454 hits, 184 home runs, 821 runs batted in, 119 stolen bases and a .282 average. His best year was 1999 for Atlanta: 23 home runs, 115 runs batted in and a World Series appearance. He was an All-Star in 1999.

He played the outfield with the recklessness the other sport had taught him and got hurt often because of it — a wrist, a shoulder, a knee. He went back to Atlanta for his last full seasons. The 2012 ballot gave him no votes at all.
